<p>The image starts as a whisper, a feeling, a tug at my innermost being when I’m immersed in nature, bathed in her majestic beauty. The vision of the image may appear in my mind’s eye but take several weeks or years to fully realize and&#8230;</p>

<p>Four Spinner dolphins form a vertical column of alignment with the sun&#8217;s rays, streaming through the big blue off the coast of Hawai&#8217;i. To my delight, a pod of about 100 Spinners swim with me, and my smile is so huge that I have to&#8230;</p>

<p>I was raised by a single, photography-obsessed dad, who was courted by National Geographic in high school. His parents, having lived through the Great Depression and World War II, forbade him from pursuing a career in the arts, so my engineer dad passed his love&#8230;</p>

<p>Standing nearly 14,000 feet atop Mauna Kea on Hawai&#8217;is big island, above the clouds on the world&#8217;s tallest mountain (when measured from its base deep under the ocean), watching our Earth&#8217;s shadow glow across the sky, a vibrancy pulses deep in my core. From this,&#8230;</p>
